Labs

Engineering Graphics & Design Lab (3110013)

Engineering Graphics & Design lab has been facilitated to visualize or imagine the technical statements and representations of technical designs.

Also learning facility has been provided by appropriate models of Plane scale, Planes, Solids, Section of solids, Developments of surfaces, Cycloids and Orthographic objects for students.

Computer software has been installed in CAD Laboratory for learning of CAD design and commands.

The unique combination of technical skills and creative techniques used in the engineering graphics field prepares graduates for entry-level positions as designers, drafters and technicians in a variety of fields, including manufacturing, engineering, architecture and construction.

This course studies the fundamentals and models of various types of boilers, boiler mountings and accessories, power transmission elements like gears, clutches, couplings and brakes and also include basic knowledge about pump and compressors. This lab gives clear idea about importance and working of this elements of mechanical engineering

Fluid mechanics and Fluid Power Engineering  refers to a broad engineering field that studies the fundamental behavior of fluids .The laboratory exercises outlined here are designed to assist the student in the investigation of fluid properties, application of flow measurement techniques, determination of turbo machinery characteristics, and application of conservation laws.

These laboratories are introduction to the use and operation of selected industry chicaneries, various machining operations, and basic skills on conventional machines, such as lathes, mills, shapers, grinders, and drill presses. The students also learn about various welding processes on different kind of materials along with safety recommendations in manufacturing processes to get skilled profession attitude which help them to be professional engineers.

This lab is to introduce the basic principles of heat and mass transfer with emphasis on their analysis and applications to practical engineering problems and also it is used for performing the Heat Transfer experiments to verify some of the theoretical learning in our class by experiments.

Mechanical engineers design, analyze, and manufacture new products and technologies. Theory of machines is a design-oriented subject which addresses the kinematics and dynamics of mechanisms with applications to linkage systems, reciprocating engines, automobile parts and industrial machinery. This lab transforms their basic theory knowledge into the practical approach.

The objective of the lab is to perform experiments which are related to engineering mechanics subject (Statics and Dynamics) in order to understand the behavior of different mechanical equipment which students study in theory.

Automobile engineering deals with designing, manufacturing new products, repairing, and servicing vehicles. It is indeed a sub-branch of mechanical engineering. It involves studying motor systems, design, technology and many more.

This course studies the fundamentals of how the design and operation of internal combustion engines affect their performance, operation, fuel requirements, and environmental impact. Topics include fluid flow, thermodynamics, combustion, heat transfer and friction phenomena, and fuel properties, with reference to engine power, efficiency, and emissions. Students examine the design features and operating characteristics of different types of internal combustion engines: spark-ignition, diesel, stratified-charge, and mixed-cycle engines. Class includes lab project in the Engine Laboratory.

Computer-aided design (CAD) is the use of computer systems to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. It  is used for industrial designing and also to increase the productivity of the designer, improve the quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and to create a database for manufacturing. CAD is an important industrial art extensively used in many applications, including automotive, shipbuilding, and aerospace industries, industrial and architectural design.
