  • Serve as a reliable and capable resource for society through consultancy and IRG.
  • Maintain intellectually challenging and collaborative environment for growth and development of the department.
  • Develop faculty and students to meet challenges.
  • Imbibe ethical values in environmental engineering practices.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • Plan, design, analyze and sustain environmental structures and provide solutions that meet public health, safety, and welfare of society.
  • Function effectively and follow human values and ethics with team spirit in every environmental engineering aspect undertaken.
  • Design solutions for complex Environmental Engineering problems to meet the needs of the society with respect to sustainable development.

Program Specific Outcome (PSOs)

  • Use advanced abilities & technical capabilities in order to find workable solutions of Environmental Engineering problems as a professional respecting diversified cultural.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development through higher education.
  • Apply leadership skills and take initiatives to achieve advance professional goals with commitment to ethical standards.

Labs

This subject emphasizes mainly on fundamental aspects of air pollution. It involves teaching of Air pollution sources and pollutants; its effect on environment, human health, plant & property; Noise measurement & control; odor & its control, etc. The theoretical part discusses meteorology and dispersion of air pollutants, whereas practical approach involves industrial visits and stack monitoring demo at site.
The syllabus has been designed to clear the concepts on chemistry front, which is one of the most essential aspect for every environmental engineering graduate. The subject content discusses Equilibrium chemistry, Physical chemistry, Organic chemistry, Colloidal chemistry and parameters of wastewater analysis. The Laboratory work contains experiments on Acidity, Sulphates, DO, COD, BOD, oil & grease and volatile acid for waste water samples.
Experiments for certain parameters are carried out in this Lab; they are:
  1. Determination of turbidity from water sample using Nephelo turbidity meter.
  2. Determination of fluoride concentration in drinking water using spectrophotometer.
  3. Colorimetric analysis for copper using UV-V spectrophotometer.
  4.  Preparation of calibration curve of chromium using UV- Vis spectrophotometer.
  1. Determination of optimum coagulant dose using multiple Jar Test Apparatus.
  2. Determination of effect of coagulant dose on pH and alkalinity of water.
  3. To measure Ammonical Nitrogen from waste water.
